    Sep 14, 2008 · YO ARE ABOUT A IDIOT!! I have been an MRI tech for 13 years. I am now a traveling MRI tech and 99% of every place in the country that I have worked, techs do 1 modality. Feel free if want to be a super tech but at the end of the day the Super tech is a SUPER FOOL.Getting paid the same to do more. Last I checked we are not paid by the patient.

    Dec 19, 2007 · Hi I am a MRI tech at a large hospital. I always work second shift which is 1500 - 2330, but we do always have one of the techs on call for third shift. I am currently on call until 0700 in the morning. This weekend I go on call at 2300 Friday night and go off call at 0700 Monday morning.

    Another option was MRI, definitely look into it, especially if you could get cross-trained. MRI school is only a few month long, and it won't cost you an arm to complete it. CAT Scan is.. meh, because the amount of work they do, and the amount of stress they get is totally not worth $3-$4 raise.
