Mar 15, 2010 · Tampa has better weather, beachside towns nearby, better dining, sporting events, entertainment outlets, retail, etc. Tampa is part of a much larger metropolitan area and has much more to offer. Also, I would not say Jacksonville is tremendously safer either. I would imagine Tampa has much worse traffic and congestion though.
